Severe Weather

In the Event of Severe Weather Conditions

Please do not call the school regarding closures as we need to keep the phone lines free for emergencies.

Use our absence line (option 1) or ParentMail to report if your child is off sick.

We will always try to remain open. However, in the event of extremely heavy snow falls and freezing temperatures, please listen to the radio stations as listed below for school closure information, or log on to:

Radio Stations

❄ BBC Essex: 103.5FM or 95.3FM
❄ Heart FM: 96.3 – 102.6FM
❄ Radio Essex (Southend Radio): 105.1FM

School closure dates will be announced on these stations, on our website where possible

Headteacher Update for Bad Weather

In the event of bad weather, it is my intention to keep the school open so the children do not miss any learning. However, depending on the outcome of my Risk Assessment, the sites may close earlier in the event of heavy snow to ensure all can get home safely.

East Street collection may be between 2.30 – 2.45pm and Boston Avenue between 2.45 – 3pm. Children will not receive late marks on a snow day so please make every endeavour to get them to school. You will be kept updated via ParentMail or by our text service by 7.30am if there has been snow.

Please ensure the office have your current mobile number and email address.

Yours sincerely,

Mr N. Booth
