If an application for a place at St Mary’s Prittlewell, Church of England Primary School is declined, parent/s have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel.  

Refusal to accept a place at either site is the refusal of a place at St. Mary’s, Prittlewell, Church of England Primary School entirely.

Main Round Appeals (Reception and Year 3 only).

Parents can appeal against the refusal for schools for which they did not receive an offer. Appeals must be lodged within 20 school days of the date of the letter.  Appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. All appeals are considered by an Independent Appeals Panel.  The deadline for submitting on time appeals is 16 May 2026.

In-Year Appeals (In-year Reception to Year 6):

For applications for in-year admissions, appeals must be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.  All appeals are considered by an Independent Appeals Panel.

Appeals must be heard within 30 school days from the Appeal Form submission.

Appellants are notified of their appeal date and time once appeals have been submitted.
